Report: Jeep to potentially have an SRT version of its aesthetically challenged Cherokee
Mopar’s enthusiast site AllPar.com has been apparently told that a new hot SRT version of the controversial Jeep Cherokee may be in the works.

It will apparently don a more powerful engine, all-wheel drive, and Chrysler’s latest ZF-sourced nine-speed automatic transmission. No hints on the engine, but AllPar postulates that 3.0L Pentastar V6 would be a good candidate, with a distinct possibility for single- or even twin-turbocharging, yielding 375hp for the single and 410hp for the twin-turbo.
No timeframe was leaked either. But could a SRT version make the all-new Cherokee more appealing?
Let us know in the comment section. Needless to say, we’re curious about it.
