Spy Shots: Pictures of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-In Hybrid leaked before Frankfurt
Mercedes-Benz supposedly leaked some new photos of the new 2014 S500 Plug-In Hybrid during a small press conference, which were reposted by Mercedes-Benz Passion Blog.
The model is supposed to be seeing the official revealing at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. According to the blog’s post, a 333hp V6 is used churning out 354 lb-ft of twist, assisted by an electric motor supplied by a trunk-mounted 8.7 kWh battery.
The traditional gas engine powers the rear wheels while the electric motor powers the front. The setup will apparently allow the S500 Plug-In Hybrid to travel 18.6 miles on electric power alone with a fuel economy rating of around 78.4 mpg.
