Photo Rendering: Is this what the potential Mercedes-Benz SLC sports coupe could look like?

Rumors of a more affordable version of Mercedes-Benz’s hot SLS AMG sports coupe and convertible have been circulating for quite some time. Though nothing has seemed to really amount from these rumors, except for some spy photos and renderings. And to add to the latter mixture, our friends over at TopSpeed.com were able to render what they think the more affordable Silver Arrow sports car could look like.

Supposedly called the SLC, the smaller coupe is also expected to be lighter to help it better compete against the likes of the Porsche 911. To help keep the weight down, extensive use of carbon fiber and aluminum is expected, though unfortunately, hints point at the use of traditional doors rather than the SLS AMG’s signature gullwing doors. A launch date sometime in 2014 is theorized, if these rumors hold true.

Though still, nothing from the lion’s den has been heard of or seen in relation to official information. So until then, here’s a photo rendering compliments of TopSpeed.com.
