Report: Porsche betting on getting the most success with the 918 Spyder in the US market
AutomotiveNews reports that Porsche is betting on the US market as being the largest market for the much anticipated 918 Spyder sueprcar, while others have their eyes dead set on the fastest emerging markets in Asia.
That said, Porsche will be organizing an exclusive club featuring events throughout the country, including Dallas, Las Vegas, New York, and Pebble Beach. With a price of $845,000, they’re certainly aiming at the right areas.

Word is that some potential buyers have even forked over $200,000 on deposits, with only 918 examples total being produced. Though production is far from sold out.
The 918 Spyder is powered by a 4.6L V8 engine mated to two electric motors for a projected output of 887hp for a 0-62 time of just 2.8 seconds and a top run of at least 211 mph. In electric only mode, the 918 Spyder is said to be capable of traveling up to 18 miles at max speeds of up to 93 mph, and a 0-62 time of seven seconds.
Official production is slated to begin on September 18 of this year and as always, Europe will receive the first deliveries.
