Report: Audi A9 to be all-new flagship as an Allroad sedan crossover

WorldCarFans reports that Audi may be a few steps closer to finalizing an all-new flagship that will sit above the A8 in the brand’s lineup. The report comes from German auto news outlet Auto Motor und Sport, who apparently says that the rumored “A9” will utilize the same platform as the incoming next-generation Q7 crossover.

This is due to the fact that the A9 is supposed to take form as an Allroad sedan with an increased ride height and underbody skid plates for when the going gets rough.

Not much else is known, though WCF predicts that it will be jam packed with new technology featuring semi-autonomous driving systems.
