Suzuki teases AUTHENTICS Concept for China as a potential new compact sedan that we won’t get
Suzuki debuted an all-new concept for its compact segment competitor, which they call the Suzuki AUTHENTICS Concept for the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show in China. The compact segment has been a popular one in China and resultantly, Suzuki wants a piece of the action.
It’s a shame too that this is a bit untimely for us Americans simply because Suzuki has pulled out of the North American market after corporate troubles and poor sales. That’s because the new AUTHENTICS Concept looks to don a rather handsome body.
The last Suzuki sedan we ever got, the Kizashi, was by all means a rather handsome vehicle. It’s a shame it just didn’t get the attention it deserved, dialing up some rather surprising driving dynamics, proper build quality, and an overall pleasing package. Had Suzuki kept their presence here, this could’ve been another strong competitor to the preexisting automotive hodgepodge.
But, shoulda, coulda, woulda.
