Audi R8 China Edition is also superstitious against the unlucky number 4

Catering to its Chinese client base, Audi has revealed a special-edition R8 called the Audi R8 China Edition.

The model is exclusively available in Malibu Blue or Suzuka Grey with contrasting side blades, a carbon fiber rear wing and 19-inch black alloy wheels. On the inside, the Audi R8 China Edition features leather and Alcantara sport seats, an Alcantara steering wheel and body color accents. Each model comes with its own serial number on the gear knob but Audi has decided to skip all numbers with the number ‘4’ to ‘respect the cultural habit of Chinese customers’ – ohhh superstition.

Power for the Audi R8 China Edition comes from a 5.2 liter V10 engine making 525-hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. Mated to the R tronic transmission and a quattro all-wheel drive system, the model runs from 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds.

Production will be limited to 80 units.
