2013 Lexus ES earns 5-star safety rating from NHTSA

The new 2013 Lexus ES 350 has earned top ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration – earning an overall top score of five stars in NHTSA’s crash and safety tests.

The 2013 Lexus ES earned fives in overall driver safety, frontal and rollover crashes and overall side crashes.

Refresher: The 2013 Lexus ES 300h is powered by a 2.5 liter 5-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine allowing for 200-hp with an EPA-rated fuel-economy of 40/39 (city/highway) or 40 mpg combined. The 2013 Lexus ES 350 is powered by a 3.5 liter V6 making 268-hp and 248 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed sequential-shift automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i) and carries a EPA fuel-economy of 21/31 mpg or 24 mpg combined. Prices start at $36,100 for the Lexus ES 350 and $38,850 for the ES 300h.
