2012 LA: 2014 Subaru Forester makes public debut
The 2014 Subaru Forester was released today at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show with some new styling updates and a bit more room.
Power for the Forester comes from a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter 4-cylinder boxer engine that makes 170hp and 174 lb-ft of torque or a 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer that makes 250hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Mated to the 2.5-liter model is either a 6-speed manual or Lineartronic CVT, and the 2.0-liter turbo gets a high-torque CVT with 6-speed and 8-speed manual modes and Hill Decent Control.
The automaker also notes that the suspension has been updated for greater control and comfort and the model gets 8.7 inches of ground clearance.
Available options include smartphone integration, navigation, infotainment system, harmon/kardon premium audio amplifier and speakers and a rear view camera.
