Dodge Dart Police Car is for ceremonial purposes only

What you’re looking at here is a Dodge Dart Police Car. Now we know that Chrysler doesn’t built a Dart police car so what is this all about? This pas week, employees at Chrysler Group’s Belvidere Assembly Plant were escorted to the Belvidere/Boone County Food Pantry for a special Thanksgiving Day dinner. The police usually patrols the community in a Dodge Charger Pursuit but Belvidere Police Chief Jan Noble had a better idea.

He approached Chrysler and asked them to provide the Belvidere Police Department with a police vehicle made in the Belvidere Assembly Plant to add a special touch to the whole event.

“The Belvidere Police Department wanted to drive what’s built in their town by their own citizens,” said Peter Grady, Vice President of Network Development & Fleet, Chrysler Group LLC. “This was a terrific opportunity to support the Belvidere police and continue to foster our longtime partnership with this city and region.”

The result is this built-in-Belvidere Dodge Dart police vehicle that the city will use for non-patrol tasks and only ceremonial purposes.

Could you imagine a Dodge Dart Police car pulling you over? I don’t think it’s a bad idea.
