Report: Toyota GT-86 / Scion FR-S convertible to debut in Geneva, performance version in the works

According to a report by AutoCar from the UK, Toyota is planning to debut the convertible version of the Toyota GT 86 / Scion FR-S at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March.

While nothing has been confirmed as yet, it is reported that Toyota and Scion will use a folding fabric roof rather than a hard-top in order to save weight. Weight is going to something Toyota does its best to keep down so performance is not sacrificed.

Also, according to chief engineer of Toyota’s sports cars, Tetsuya Tada, a performance version of the GT 86 is also in the works.
