According to Mercedes-Benz’s boss, Dieter Zetsche, the launch of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class has been the most successful in the brand’s history.

Zetsche said that Mercedes-benz has taken more than 70,000 pre-orders in Western Europe alone – which means one for every 10 that attended pre-launch events.
He said that the brand’s absence in key segments/markets such as the small SUV has made the brand lag behind Audi and BMW. Mercedes plans on launching an SUV based on the MFA platform that underpins the A-Class.
“These are not excuses, and we will close the gap in the next five years,” said Zetsche.
The Mercedes-Benz A-Class will come to the United States early to mid next year.
