Ford to bring tuned 2013 Explorer and Escape models to 2012 SEMA Show
Three SUV’s will now be joining Ford’s massive Sema fleet at this year’s upcoming show in the form of one 2013 Explorer and two 2013 Escapes.
The 2013 Ford Explorer comes in the form of the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost Sport variant and was crafted by Forgiato. While the tuning house has yet to detail the interior mods, on the outside the model gets a wide body kit, a coat of Pearl White paint and sits on a set of three-piece forged wheels sized 26×10 wrapped in Pirelli rubber at 295/30R26 tires.
One of the two Escapes is the 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost variant and is coated in grey shade with black alloy wheels. This project has been dubbed the “VACCAR Urban Escape Adventure Project” and is described by Ford as representing “the ideal balance of rugged off-road attitude, upscale comfort and potent EcoBoost engine.” The automaker says more details are to come as Sema approaches.
A second 2.0-liter EcoBoost Ford Escape has been made by Heide Performance Products with a focus on speed and style, but this tuning house is using the 6-speed automatic with all-wheel drive.
I have a feeling Ford is still not done.
