Video: What went into making the new 2013 Audi R8

At first look, the 2013 Audi R8 may not seem like a big deal but the engineers put a lot of time and effort on improving on the already successful supercar. The brand has now dropped a video showing exactly what it takes to become the new 2013 R8.

Refresher: The 2013 Audi R8 is powered by a 4.2 FSI V8 engine making 430-hp at 7,900 with a maximum torque of 317 lb-ft between 4,500 and 6,000 rpm. Mated to a 7-speed S tronic transmission, 0 to 62 mph comes in just 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 186 mph. The manual transmission allows for 0 to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds. The Audi R8 V10 makes 525-hp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 391 lb-ft at 6,500 rpm. The 2013 Audi R8 V10 Coupe with the S tronic runs from 0 to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 195 mph. With a manual the figure drops to 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 196 mph.
