Cosworth Hyundai Genesis Coupe teased, to get 389-hp
Cosworth is bringing its take on the Hyundai Genesis Coupe to this year’s SEMA show, working with the automaker to create the Cosworth Genesis Racing Series Concept. The model focuses on power, but folds in some nice design aesthetic, as well.
The British engineers offer up an additional 41-hp and 30 lb-ft of torque for the 3.8l-liter V6, bringing the total output up to 389hp and 325 lb-ft of torque, and is still street legal. Additional performance mods include a sport suspension and Cosworth brakes.
On the outside, Cosworth adds an aero front splitter, integrated rear spoiler, black out rear diffuser and a set of lightweight gunmetal racing wheels. The CGRS concept has also been coated in a stain-gloss finish blue color. Interior updates include custom gear shifter, trim, steering wheel and seats.
“The rear-drive Genesis Coupe is simply a great platform from which to build our ultimate Cosworth Genesis Racing Series street model,” said Nicole Armbrustmacher, director of marketing, Cosworth Americas. “The Cosworth Genesis Racing Series Coupe truly demonstrates the purpose-built performance potential of the affordable Genesis Coupe line. We’re proud to partner with Hyundai for this ultimate racing series model,” she added.
