Report: Tesla says it will miss 2012 sales expectations
This don’t always go the way you plan. Tesla Motors warned its investors yesterday that its 2012 sales of the Model S electric sedan will fall about 30 percent below original expectations because it is confronting ‘unique manufacturing challenges.’
Tesla has built 255 units of the Model S from June through last Sunday. It still plans to make 2,500 to 3,000 units in the fourth quarter.

Tesla says that it is still on track to produce more than 20,000 units of the Model S in 2013 at a pace of about 400 units a week.
The California based electric car maker has lost $660 million in the the last 14 quarters.
