Chrysler plant worker stabs and kills another, Jefferson assembly line shutdown

Chrysler said this morning that its Jefferson North Assembly plant in Detroit will resume production on Friday after an altercation between two workers turned deadly.

After a fight this morning at the plant, one of the employees stabbed another killing him on the spot.

“Chrysler Group is deeply saddened by the events that occurred at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant this morning,” said Scott Garberding Senior Vice President Manufacturing. “This is a tragic incident and our hearts go out to the families involved.”

“As has been reported, two employees were involved in an altercation inside the plant. One employee was stabbed and pronounced dead at the scene. The other employee left the building.

Chrysler said that it is offering grief counselors at the plant to support our employees as needed.
