Report: Next Porsche 991 Turbo to have four-wheel steering, seven-speed manual, tri-turbo flat-six

AutoBild.de reports that the latest version of the Porsche 911 Turbo, the Type 991, will be equipped with a four-wheel steering system to help increase the car’s handling and driving agility.

According to the report, the steering system will work in tandem with the all-wheel drive system.

So far, from the rumors, the new 991 Turbo is expected to utilize a tri-turbo system on the brand’s traditional 3.8L flat-six. A power rating between 530hp and 550hp is expected, allowing the car to accelerate to 60 in just 3.3 seconds.

Channeling that power to all four wheels is Porsche’s latest seven-speed manual or the latest seven-speed PDK dual-clutch cog swapper. The new Porsche 991 Turbo is projected to be read by 2013 as a 2014 model.
