Report: Mazda6 could get coupe variant, all-wheel-drive system
The new 2014 Mazda6, which was unveiled yesterday is a very sleek looking mid-size sedan. According to AutoCar, Mazda is now playing around with a idea of offering a coupe version of the new design.

“There is no decision, but I would love to make one,” said chief designer Akira Tamatani. “The first job is to make the saloon and estate, but from this position a coupe is not so far away.”

Besides a coupe program manager Hiroshi Kajiyama confirmed that the Mazda6 could also get an all-wheel drive system.
“There are no set plans, but we are studying the possibility of introducing all-wheel drive – it would be a good weapon with which to establish the brand,” said Kajiyama.
The 2014 Mazda6 is scheduled to go on sale in the U.S. early next year.
