Lotus officially announces motorsports-focused Exige V6

Lotus has officially announced a new version of its latest Exige called the Exige V6 Cup. As you can guess from the name, this is a much more track focused version of Lotus’s latest compact mid-engined sports car.

Powering the Exige V6 Cup is obviously a V6, which is the same Toyota-based unit as in the Evora S. That means it comes complete with a supercharger allowing it to produce 346hp in a car that weighs just 2,380lbs. Sixty comes up in just 3.8 seconds.

Helping the Exige churn out fast laptimes is Lotus’s new Dynamic Performance Management system. A total of three modes are available: Touring, Sport and Race, all specifically for the engine.

On the outside, the Exige V6 Cup benefits from more aggressive body work that aid in aerodynamics. The suspension is fully adjustable and the Exige V6 Cup comes with a set of Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo tires.

On the inside, drivers will find a roll cage, HANS-compatible seats with multipoint safety harnesses, a kill switch, and much more motorsports-bespoke equipment.

There are several variants of the Exige V6 Cup: a Track Day version that costs £62,995 for the UK ($98,855) and a much harder Competition-Spec version, which costs £74,995 ($117,686). Only 20 are said to be built and released beginning in December of this year and a US version is on the way.
