FPV GT RSPEC gets supercharged 450-hp
Australia’s SVT division, Ford Performance Vehicles, has just launched the all-new Ford GT RSPEC Limited Edition Series, saying “anyone who drives it on the track will be blown away by just how complete and capable this car is.”
While FPV left the model’s BOSS 335 5.0-liter supercharged engine untouched, the performance division put plenty of its efforts into the GT’s suspension, handling and esthetic appeal.
The GT RSPEC is inspired by the 1969 Boss Mustang, and gets custom pain and c-striping, along with new accents, lower and upper grille surrounds, mirror in Piano Black scalps, black painted exhaust tips and fog lamp bezels.
As for performance, FPV Managing Direct Bryan Mears says “On the track the RSPEC’s capabilities are just awesome… it is the finest-handling GT in history.” To achieve this, FPV added a larger anti-roll bar, re-tuned dampers, higher spring rates, stiffer suspension, reinforced lower control arms, and even added Launch Control. New tires were added to improve performance as well, with a set of 9 inch wide wheels wrapped in R19 Dunlop Sports Maxx tires sized 275/35.
Only 350 units will be produced for the Limited Edition, which will come in four color options, and each will be crafted with a custom build badge.
