According to Erik Berkman, the new president of Honda R&D Americas, the U.S. side of the company will start taking more of a lead on the growing list of global vehicles development projects. The move is being taken to help Honda compete strongly in North America – also, the rising yen is putting new responsibilities to the U.S. side.
The U.S. side of Honda will be engineering and developing the new Acura NSX and the next-generation Civic Berkman said.
“Our U.S. r&d team is taking the next step in our growth toward an even larger responsibility for meeting the needs of our customers in North America,” Berkman said today at the 2012 Management Briefing Seminars today.
