Report: Toyota RAV4 EV can go up to 113 miles between charges

Starting next month, the Toyota RAV4 EV will start arriving at dealers in select states around the United States. Toyota said that the RAV4 EV will go farther between charges than major competitors and their electric models.

In a briefing in in Newport Beach, California, Toyota said that the RAV4 EV can travel as far as 113 miles between charges.

The Toyota RAV4 EV combines Tesla’s battery and electric powertrain. The front-wheel-drive model allows for two different driving modes including Sport and Normal. In sport model, the Toyota RAV4 EV goes from 0 to 60 mph in 7 seconds with a top speed of a 100 mph. In ‘Normal’ 0 to 60 mph comes in 8.6 seconds with a top speed of 85 mph.

“The RAV4 EV’s driving performance, dynamics and cargo capacity are equal to or exceed the gas-powered RAV4 V-6,” said Bill Fay, group vice president of U.S. Toyota-brand sales. “It’s the most practical, versatile and convenient electric vehicle on the market.”

Prices start at $49,800.
