Video: Teknikens Värld tests Jeep Grand Cherokee(s) in Elk test again

Teknikens Varld Moose Test Jeep Grand Cherokee

It seems that there’s a growing heated debate regarding a recent video test conducted by Swedish publication Teknikens Värld. In the video, journalists tested a current Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland in Sweden’s unique Elk test and they found that Jeep’s flagship failed, almost rolling over.

In response to the test, which went sort of viral in the automobile journalism world, Chrysler responded with a press statement claiming that they were unable to recreate the Swedish magazine’s test results. They also claimed that that the testers at Teknikens Värld improperly loaded their Jeep Grand Cherokee tester, which resulted in the results that they experienced. The press statement can be viewed in the original post.

Teknikens Värld, is no small time publication and after some research, they are to Sweden much like CAR and DRIVER is to North America or AutoCar is to the United Kingdom. That said, they followed up with Chrysler’s response by conducting another video test, with several different but equally equipped Jeep Grand Cherokee Overlands. This time, Chrysler’s engineers in Europe were present during the testing and in the video, Teknikens Värld even conducted the same test using a Volkswagen Touareg and a Volvo XC90. And well, the results speak for themselves.
