Toyota recalls select RAV4s and Lexus HS250h vehicles

Toyota has announced via a press statement that certain 2006-2011 model year RAV4s and Lexus HS250s are being recalled due to a service defect with the rear suspension arms. According to their statement, 760,000 RAV4s and 18,000 HS250s are being recalled.

More specifically, TMC discovered that if the nuts on the rear arms aren’t tightened properly following a procedure during a rear-wheel alignment, excessive play may occur followed by the formation of rust. That could potentially degrade the structure of the arm, leading to a possible failure.

Toyota said that they’re currently figuring out how to fix the issue and will begin notifying affected owners by first class mail.
