Video: 2012 Lotus Evora S IPS mid-year refresh, new automatic transmission plus calibrating Sport Mode
A lot has been happening over at Lotus as of recent, especially with the recent shift in administration staff. But operations have not been affected as the small English brand has reportedly announced that a new automatic transmission option will arrive for the Evora S later this October.
The transmission, much like the engine, is taken from the current Toyota Camry. That means Toyota’s common 3.5L V6, complete with its Aisin-sourced six-speed cog swapper , which is internally called the Intelligent Precisions Shift transmission. That said, Lotus calls it the Evora S IPS. And because it is an Evora S, that means the 3.5L V6 gets a supercharger. With the all the electronics reworked by Lotus, the Evora S churns out 345hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.
To demonstrate the up and coming Lotus Evora S IPS, Lotus was kind enough to provide a video. Check it out after the jump.
