Report: $1M electric supercar Rimac Concept_One debuts, is a sort of green Bugatti Veyron

The Rimac Concept_One is a stunning effort from a Croation startup company that is set to appear in September at the Salon Prive in London.

It is a full electric concept that showed up at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year in its production-ready form for the first time. Powered by four electric motors, one at each wheel, the model packs a jaw-dropping total output of 1,073hp and 1,180 lb-ft of torque. The 0-62mph time comes in at just 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 190 mph, and the supercar still gets a 373 mile driving range.

The Croatian company’s 24-year-old CEO, Mate Rimac, said: “We started with a blank sheet of paper. The idea was to create an exceptional supercar with a new propulsion concept. What we have here is a fully-fledged hypercar that is as powerful as a Bugatti, as stylish as a Ferrari, and as luxurious as a Mercedes, all while managing to forsake even the tiniest sip of gasoline.”

With a $1 million price tag, the model Concept_One costs as much as a collection of Lamborghinis or Ferraris would, but not without anything to back it up. Judging from the photos and specs, this is an impressive effort through and through.
