Porsche and the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration issued a new recall, where several model year 2011-2012 Porsche Panamera Turbos and Cayenne Turbos may suffer from a fractured turbocharger.
The report says that the turbocharger may fracture due to a metal casting defect, and should the turbocharger fracture, bits and pieces of the metal could render the snail useless. Additionally, oil could leak into the exhaust system, which may increase the risk of fire.
Porsche said that they’ll begin notifying owners and will replace the turbocharger free of charge. Only 270 units were reported to be affected.
