Lexus to dealers: Sell 27,500 GS sedans and we will produce the LF-LC coupe
At the 2012 Detroit Auto Show in January, Lexus took the wraps off of the beautiful LF-LC supercar, wowing journalists and industry analysts. As parent-company Toyota pushes Lexus to become sportier, the move starts with the LF-LC, which hints at the future design language for the brand.

Designed at Toyota’s Calty studio in Newport Beach, California, the Lexus LF-LC was originally not planned for production – however, after a very positive reaction it is almost certain that the supercar will be produced.
“There has been a lot of interest from dealers and distributors” a Lexus official said.
Lexus dealers recently received a crystal sculpture with a 3D laser etching of the LF-LC. On the outside, the sculpture reads ‘2012 GS Challenge … 27,500 Sales’ – meaning if dealers hit the target they will get the supercar.
Either way, even if dealers don’t hit their goals Lexus will produce the LF-LC. Not to mention, Lexus registered the trademark for LF-LC right after the Detroit show.
