Report: Volvo XC40 caught running about uncovered

Some new pictures are out of Volvo’s latest compact crossover, the XC40, all of which have the car completely undisguised. The car was spotted by a flickr user, who was nice enough to share them with the rest of the world through his account.

So far, from what we know, the XC40 is based off of the current V40. Though because of the car’s “XC” nature, it’s essentially a lifted, more rugged Volvo V40.

Powertrains are expected to range from a series of gas engines that produce as little as 148hp to as much as 250hp while diesel units are expected to range from 113hp and 174hp. Also expected is the option for all-wheel drive while the XC40 is expected to otherwise be front-wheel drive.

Conclusively, the Volvo XC40 is anticipated for a full world-wide debut at this year’s Paris Motor Show in September.
