Report: More potent Jaguar XFR-S to debut at Los Angeles in November with 542hp
Jaguar’s XF mid-sized luxury sports sedan has proven itself to be a worthy competitor to the latest and greatest from Germany and Japan. As a result through willingness to keep up with the competition and play with the big dogs, all while slightly reflecting the Jaguar’s rich history in motorsports and the production of luxury sports cars, the Coventry-based manufacturer was caught testing an even hotter version of the already-potent XFR sedan.

The head honchos of the brand have acknowledged that an “XFR-S” sedan is on the way—“S” following after the harder version of the XKR coupe, the XKR-S. As if the XFR wasn’t enough?
Speaking of which, the XFR-S is expected to also use the same supercharged AJ-V8 good for 542hp. Though, not much else is known. It is expected however, that this new hot cat will debut at this year’s Los Angeles motor show in November.
For all comparative purposes, the standard XFR comes with a not so shabby 510hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. But those figures are still bested by the two leading competitors in the segment, the BMW M5 with 552hp and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG with 549hp. So the XFR-S will essentially close that gap in horsepower.
