2013 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster, drop-down awesomeness with 512-hp

Aston Martin has thoroughly proven that they love producing a wide variety of variants of their core models. For instance, Aston decided to take the smaller V8 Vantage, swap the Jaguar-based V8 for an in-house V12 to make a screaming princess of a machine, the V12 Vantage coupe.

Of course, over time, Aston also chopped the head off of said V8 Vantage to create the V8 Vantage Roadster so that one could enjoy the epic exhaust note some more. Though, because they made a V12 Vantage coupe, enthusiasts and fans wondered if Aston was going to produce a convertible V12 Vantage.

So after three years worth of rumors, Aston Martin has apparently officially announced a V12 Vantage Roadster. And only 101 lucky individual owners will be able to own the already seductively sexy convertible and an exhaust note that could tingle anyone’s gonads.

To give a quick technical rundown, this drop top’s 6.0L V12 produces 512hp and 420 lb-ft of torque, all channeled to the real wheels through a traditional six-speed manual cog swapper. Can you imagine the noise it’ll make?

Though the differences aren’t just with the engine as the V12 Vantage also receives a bucket list of aesthetic changes, many of which are bespoke to the V12 Vantage itself. Carbon fiber all around is expected, while underneath the skin, the front and rear suspension were revised as well.

The 2013 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster is expected to hit showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2012 and all 101 units will be built over a period of nine months. Full pricing has yet to be announced, but some rumors through the dealership network suggest that one of these puppies will fetch roughly £150,000 in the UK or $232,630 US. Unfortunately, as of now, there is no word of a US bound version.
