Report: Mercedes-Benz accidentally leaks CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake picture
Last week, Mercedes-Benz unveiled its latest version of the CLS four-door coupe, the CLS Shooting Brake, which essentially is an estate version of Benz’s seductive saloon. Now though, some folks at Mercedes-Benz let some new information slip on the Internet, which was taken down after it was discovered. Thankfully, before it disappeared, fellow journalists at CARandDRIVER were able to save the information.
To start, because Mercedes-Benz loves to AMG-ify pretty much any car in its lineup, it wasn’t unreasonable to expect the same with the CLS Shooting Brake. That said, it seems the expectations were met because the leaked information contained a manufacturer’s rendition of a CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake in the form of a photo.
Much like the standard CLS63 AMG, the CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake will most likely feature the brand’s 5.5L twin-turbocharged V8 that churns out 518hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Much like how the standard CLS63 has the option for a Performance pack, the CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake is anticipated to receive the same option, boosting power to 550hp and 590 lb-ft of twist.
Of course, we will not be getting this CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake because the standard CLS Shooting Brake will not be sold either. But hey, if you want a Teutonic slab of German steel that goes batshit insane fast while hauling your family and their junk, you can still get the amazingly bonkers E63 AMG wagon.
