Report: Audi to offer optional S-Line Competition Package on 2013 TT

Despite its Volkswagen Golf roots, the Audi TT has always been a uniquely designed vehicle that has come across as aesthetically pleasing through time and evolution. Anyone who has seen the latest TT and its siblings-on-steroids, the TT RS and the TTS, will most likely attest to this—me being one of them.

But in order to get a TT with a far more aggressive and sporty look, such a desire demands handing over a pretty hefty lump of cash for either the TT RS or the TTS.

Now though, if you fancy having a TT with S-Line performance looks without the sacrifice in pay, Audi apparently has something up their sleeves just for you. The Ingolstadt-based brand has supposedly announced that they’ll be offering an S-Line Competition package for the base 2013 Audi TT.

The S-Line Competition Package does nothing to the TT’s base 2.0L turbocharged and direct-injected four-banger. But it does add an S-Line Sport suspension that’s stiffer and lowers the ride height for a lower center of gravity.

The rest of the package consists of a variety of visual upgrades such as plenty of shadowlined trim all around, a more aggressive front and rear fascia, and 19-inch “Rotor” alloys painted in black as well. To boost the TT’s appeal even more, the S-Line Competition package standardizes Audi’s xenon projector headlights and LED daytime runners.

Inside, the TT also gets some treatment with a nappa leather-wrapped tiller, S-Line Sport buckets, doorsill trim, and brushed-aluminum all around. Color wise, the TT S-Line will be available in only four colors: Samoa Orange, Glacier White, Daytona Gray, and Missano Red (pictured).

The S-Line Competition Package is expected to launch with the 2013 Audi TT in September of this year and will require an extra $2,350 on top of the base TT’s $39,175. For comparative purposes, the 2012 Audi TTS has an MSRP of $47,000 with the TT RS starting at $57,200.
