Lexus recalls 2010 RX350 and RX450h models over floor mats
It seems that the major recall over hazardous floor mats in Toyota vehicles still has yet to be put to rest as some new models were just added to the recall.
Toyota and Lexus have issued a recall for 2010 model year Lexus RX350 and RX 450h crossovers, for fears of “unsecured or incompatible floor mat entrapment of the accelerator pedal.”
The addition of these RX’s amount to 154,000 recalled RX models, for a grand total of 7.8 million Toyota vehicles flagged for faulty floor mats. When divided, 131,800 2010 RX350s and 22,200 2010 RX450hs make up the group.
Toyota and Lexus said that they will begin notifying the affected customers beginning in August via first class mail.
But to add a little bit of controversy, according to International Business Times, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is considering opening an investigation into the timeliness of this recall by Toyota.
