Report: NHTSA issues first recall for 2013 Scion FR-S/Subaru BR-Z

The very much-anticipated “ToyoScioBaru” rear-wheel drive sports coupe, or the 2013 Scion FR-S/Subaru BR-Z is about to make its very triumphant introduction. But apparently, things got a little haywire as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has already issued the cars’ first recall.

Ok, this isn’t a major mechanical mishap, but rather a documentation error. According to the NHTSA’s report, the 2013 Scion FR-S and Subaru BR-Z owner’s manual apparently has a print error where there’s “an inaccurate description of the actual operation of the ‘Front Passenger Occupant Classification.’” Additionally, the owner’s manual section regarding airbags “requires” revision.

In an email response, both Subaru and Scion said that they would mail owners the revised pages and that they do not have to bring their automobiles to the dealers.
