Report: Mercedes-Benz C300 4MATIC gets detuned C350 3.5L V6
Some news surrounding the current generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class has just rolled down the pipeline regarding a new power update for the C300 4MATIC version.
Previously, the C300 came with the brand’s 3.0L V6, which produced 228hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. Now, Mercedes apparently is ditching that aging V6 in the C300 and replacing it with the previous C350’s direct-injected 3.5L V6. While the C350 produces 302hp, the C300’s 3.5L V6 will be detuned to produce 248hp and 251 lb-ft of torque.
To help keep fuel economy figures where they are, a new “Eco” mode and stop-start function were made standard. Additionally, the all-wheel drive C300 4MATIC is only available in sedan form.
