Report: Dodge Ram 1500 may get diesel powerplant
We gave you a piece some time ago about the prospects of a diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee; it seems that in addition to that idea, Chrysler is toying with bringing a diesel RAM 1500 to the United States and has already built a few protoypes. Over here, like manual transmissions, diesels are slowly gaining a greater foothold.
So far the engine in question appears to be a three liter six cylinder turbo chucking out (potentially) over 400 ft-lbs of torque. This translates to further towing potential of close to 10,000 pounds. Better than a sharp stick in the eye, eh?
