2013 Porsche 911 Club Coupe unveiled, only available to 12 club members

The very first Porsche was built in 1948 and the first Porsche Club was established just four years after that.

The first club came about when a group of seven Porsche owners founded it the Westfälischer Porsche Club Hohensyburg, now known as the Porsche Club Westfalen, on May 26, 1952 There are now 640 official Porsche Clubs in 75 countries with a total of approximately 181,000 members.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first club, Porsche has put together a special edition 911 known as the Porsche 911 Club Coupe.

Power comes from a 3.8 liter engine from the 911 Carrera S but it has been upgraded from 400-hp to 430-hp wit ha maximum torque of 324 lb-ft. That allows 0 to 62 mph to come in 4 seconds flat with the Sports Plus button active or 4.2 seconds with the button switched off (4.1 seconds and 4.3 seconds respectively for the PDK transmission).

Porsche said only 12 club members will have the opportunity, through a lottery, to purchase a 911 Club Coupe. One will remain at Porsche to honor the Porsche Club World. Price start at $175,580 in the United States.
