Report: Buick sales are down, young shoppers still hesitant towards brand

It seems like no matter what Buick does to boost its image, things don’t seem to be going well for the brand. After barely surviving GM’s 2009 bankruptcy restructure, Buick has hit a pothole.

Sales of the brand drop for the seven straight month, tied with Cadillac for the longest losing streak among the 41 brands sold in the country. However, unlike Cadillac, which has many new nameplates on the way, Buick doesn’t have any redesigned or new vehicles coming to its rescue.

Nonetheless, GM seems to be series about positioning Buick as a competitor to entry-level luxury brands like Acura.

Honestly, we think the logo and the image of ‘your grandpa’s car’ hurts the brand tremendously.
