2013 BMW 135is price starts at $44,415, gets a total of 320-hp

Over the weekend, BMW dropped details of the new 320-hp M135i, which it has no plans of offering in the United States… at least for now. Why? Well, that’s because the redesigned 1-Series, which is currently available in Europe, won’t be coming to the stateside for at least another two years.

However, BMW USA has announced something special for the American market. Later this fall, BMW USA will start offering a new version of the 1-Series Coupe and Convertible known as the 135is. It takes after the same philosophy as the 335is and is basically an enhanced performance version of the regular 135i.

Power for the BMW 135is comes from a 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder N55 TwinPower Turbo engine making 320-hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual or the optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. That should give the BMW 135is to run from 0 to 60 mph in around 4.5 seconds or less.

The model also receives some suspension upgrades and a new performance exhaust system with a deeper exhaust note.

Prices for the BMW 135is Coupe will start at $44,145 and $48,845 for the BMW 135is Convertible.
