Aston Martin unveils last hoorah for current gen DBS
Following some earlier announcements that Aston Martin was going to axe the DBS this year, the British exclusive sports car maker has just unveiled its last hoorah for the currently famed DB9-based super grand tourer. Though unlike most traditional unveilings, which are stemmed from brand-sourced press releases, Aston Martin had just decided to skip the fancy debut presentations and went straight for a new section on their homepage.
The last current generation DBS of them all is called the DBS Ultimate. According to Aston’s website, the DBS ultimate comes with a variety of changes and updates to signify the specialty of this particular model. These changes include special badging, carbon fiber side view mirrors, a revised grille, smoked tail-lamps, Zircotec-coated tailpipes, a choice of colors for the brake calipers, and a painted rear deck-lid spoiler.
Changes are also said to take place on the inside with diamond-quilted stitching for the leather seats and Alcantara headliner, which could be had in either red or silver. Additionally, buyers can opt between a total of three unique paint colors; Carbon Black II, Quantum Silver, or Silver Fox.
All DBS Ultimates will be available in either coupe or Volante convertible body-styles. Power is expected to come from the familiar V12 that’s been powering the DBS ever since its inception. Channeling that power is a choice of either manual or automatic transmission.
The rest of the details seemed to have been withheld from the public. But either way, we’re sure Aston Martin will soon be following this unveiling with a fully detailed press release very shortly to give everyone a full rundown of this last DBS.
