Report: Ferrari recalling 458 Italia, California over crankshaft finish issue

We’re not really ones to cover vehicle recalls but when they are significant or surprising we like shed some light. Ferrari has announced that it will be recalling a small batch of 458 Italias and Californias on a global scale.

The problem, which consists of an incorrect finish to the crankshafts, affects 206 units in the total 13,000 built. The problem causes vibrations which can damage the engine if it isn’t fixed.

“We are writing to all clients affected now, asking them to return the car to a dealer for the work to be done,” said a Ferrari spokesman.
