Report: Next Aston Martin DBS to get 550-hp
Aston Martin is overhauling its DBS model for its next generating after five years with the current one, using the One-77 supercar as inspiration for both interior and exterior design.
Standing out the most about the exterior is its overall more aggressive appearance, which comes form wider rear haunches, harder lines all around that give it a more distinctive appearance, a sportier feel for the front end from a wider grille and airdam chin spoiler and stronger lines on the side detailing.
On the inside, Aston went so far as to alter the driving position, and used the One-77 as the basis for the instrument panel and center console.
Performance enhancement include an extra 40-hp from the model’s 6.0-liter V12, which kicks the total output for the new DBS up to 550-hp. The ZF automatic transmission is said to be completely different, and the manual option, sadly, is likely to be dropped entirely.
The F12 Berlinetta competition still does not have a release date, but its is speculated that production will begin this summer, putting the release in fall.
