Report: The Infiniti Emerg-E Concept is based on the Lotus Evora
That’s right – we kid you not. According to a report by CARandDRIVER the Infiniti Emerg-E plug-in hybrid sports car concept is based on the Lotus Evora. How so?

The Infiniti Emerg-E Concept was developed in Europe to take advantage of funding provided by Great Britain’s Technology Strategy Board. The agency focuses on pushing new technologies that reduce carbon emissions in future vehicles. Among the bunch of universities and suppliers that make up the organization is Lotus, which provided its structure for the Lotus 414E (based on the Evora) for the Emerg-E.
Styling for the concept is all Infiniti.
“We wanted to show graceful power,” said Infiniti design boss Shiro Nakamura. “This is like silk wrapping over the wheels.”
Refresher: The Infiniti EMERG-E Concept is a 402-hp mid-engine, twin motor, electric motors sports car that can run from 0 to 60 mph in just 4 seconds and from 0 to 130 mph in 30 seconds. It is capable of offering zero emission urban driving for over 30 miles. The setup consist of two electric-motors, a lithium-ion battery pack, four inventors, a 3-cylinder range-extending combustion engine and a gasoline tank.
