Report: Damages caused by battery explosion at GM lab could reach $5 million
Last week, an incident at GM’s Warren Technical Center in Warren, Mich., made headlines after a lithium-ion battery exploded in a research lab, injuring 5 employees with one admitted to a hospital.
GM officials now say that the damage due to the explosion could hit $5 million.
GM Facility Manager Mo Abraham, and Krishon Davis told Warren police that damage “could reach the $5 million mark.”
GM reassured the media and customers that the battery tested has “no connection with the Chevrolet Volt or any other GM production vehicle.”
