Volkswagen Golf R Ultimate Fan Experience sweepstakes
Volkswagen has just added the a new variant to its lineup in the U.S., and its coming in making a splash.
The new 2012 Golf R has been released alongside the “Golf R Ultimate Fan Experience” contest, with the winner being awarded an all-expenses paid trip to Germany to experience the Golf R on the Nurburgring.
In addition, the seven-day, six-night trip for two includes a visit to Volkswagen AG headquarters in Wolfsburg, professional driving instruction at the Nurburgring, and a stop in Berlin, all with luxury hotel stays for each destination.

Entrants must be 25 years old or older at time of entry, and the contest begun on April 12, and will continue through May 14, 2012. The one, very lucky winner will be chosen by random drawing “on or about May 28, 2012.”

Refresher: Power for the 2012 Volkswagen Golf R comes from a 2.0 liter turbocharger 4-cylinder making 256-hp and 243 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a 6-speed manual that will allow you to go from 0 to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. Fuel-eocnomy is estimated to come in at 19/27 mpg (city/highway). Prices start at $35,490 for the two-door and $36,090 for the 4-door.
