2013 Ford Shelby GT500 price starts at $54,200 for the coupe, $59,200 for the convertible

At the 41st Annual Barrett-Jackson, the prototype that was used to produce the new 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 sold to a very lucky and rich winner for $300,000 – but obviously, that’s no where close to the amount you’ll be paying if you order one from your local dealership.

The online configurator for the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 is now up and it shows that prices will start at $54,200 for the coupe and $59,200 for the convertible.

In comparison, the 2013 Shelby GT500’s closes competitor from Detroit, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, starts at $54,095 for the coupe. Prices for the Camaro ZL1 Convertible have yet to be announced.

Refresher:  Power for the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 comes from a 5.8 liter supercharged V8 making an outstanding 650-hp with a peak torque of 600 lb-ft. It weighs in at just 3,850.
