Beautiful Citroen Numero 9 Concept to debut in Beijing
At the 2012 Beijing Motor Show, Citroen will show up to China with a new concept car called Numero 9. The Citroen Numero 9 Concept shows a very aggressive and sleek looking shooting brake with a new front end design for plug-in hybrid technology.
Designed in Paris, Citroen Numero 9 hints at the future styling of the DS line.
“Citroen Numero 9 Concept evolves the design cues of the current DS line, introducing the new front-end identity of future models, along with an original light signature,” Citroen said in a statement. “The grille is sculpted in 3 dimensions and flows into the full-LED headlights, which end in daytime-running lights. Condensing the distinctive forms of the DS line, the concept also features a floating roof, underlined by chrome trim with discreet DS markings, and glazed side surfaces flowing into the rear window.”
Citroen says that the Numero 9 Concept is powered by a 1.6 THP gasoline engine making 225-hp and a peak torque of 202 lb-ft. The electric-motor, which sits on the rear axle, makes 70-hp and 147 lb-ft of torque. Together the system pumps out 295-hp allowing the Numero 9 to go from 0 to 62 mph 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 152 mph. In EV mode, the Citroen Numero 9 Concept can travel a total of 31 miles while total fuel-consumption comes in at 166 mpg.
