Mini John Cooper Works GP II

At the New York Auto Show, Mini has announced that it will be releasing a John Cooper Works GP II at next months Mini United Festival.

So far, the only information released is that the model will come with a “high-performance turbo engine, racing-oriented suspension technology and exclusive, aerodynamically optimized body components.” Sparing the details, Mini leaves us to deduce that a likely candidate to power the model is a 1.6-liter turbocharged four banger, and that it will boast roughly 220-hp.

In addition to the John Cooper Works GP II, Mini has also released a special edition model based on the Cooper that will come in red, white and blue at the New York Auto Show, in celebration of its 10th Anniversary here in the states.
